Easy Star Records:
A Premium Fan
Experience.
Giving fans the ultimate tool to track their favorite artists' live dates — a proprietary tour tracking infrastructure built solely for the label's roster.
A Custom Tour Tracking Experience
Providing the ultimate fan utility for an entire label's roster.
In the contemporary music industry, online streaming demands are high, yet live performance generates up to 80% of total income for top-tier acts. Touring is not just promotional — it is the financial lifeblood of an independent label's roster.
Our intention was to build a tool unlike anything else in the industry: a unified hub capturing all tour dates across an extended label family. The custom "On Tour" hub instantly shows fans exactly how many upcoming shows each artist has and lets them sort dates to find the absolute soonest opportunity to see live music.
By empowering fans with a location-filterable interface and seamless ticket purchasing paths, we crafted a high-utility fan experience that drives massive value and connects audiences directly with artists on the road.
A one-of-a-kind tour tracking platform
Designed strictly for the fans, enabling rapid discovery and ticket routing.
At-a-glance Show Counts
Fans can instantly see the total number of upcoming shows for each artist on the roster directly within their artist cards. This real-time tally keeps the audience engaged and constantly updated on who is actively touring.
Next Show Preview
The platform highlights the date and location of the exact next upcoming show for every artist. Want to know who is hitting the stage tomorrow? The intuitive interface surfaces the soonest appearances automatically.
Location Filtering
A seamless, integrated location filter lets users instantly sift through hundreds of live dates worldwide. Fans can pinpoint shows happening in their city or state without navigating away from the core hub.
Frictionless Ticketing Path
By bypassing third-party clunkiness, the platform gives fans a clean, direct channel to purchase tickets. A rapid routing system ensures they click through to reliable ticketing portals securely and effortlessly.
Roster Intelligence Architecture
Developing a smart backend to power the fan-facing experience.
To enable these dynamic fan features, we needed unparalleled data accuracy. By pulling live, centralized tour data directly via API integrations, we developed a proprietary "Roster Intelligence" routing system. This digital filter executes conditional logic to only pull and display event data for artists officially marked as "primary" or "co-primary" on Easy Star releases.
This crucial strategic step strips away irrelevant guest features or one-off DJ sets that typically clutter automated widgets. The result is a premium, headline-level tour routing experience built to handle the complexity of an entire record label.
🎛️ Rack Mounted Audio Gear Control Panel
SVG fractal noise simulates a powder-coated metal texture, layered with animated deep-red gradients simulating active data streams. Phillips-head rack screws reinforce the physical, tactile hardware aesthetic of the Backstage Command Center.
The Three-Layer Data Pipeline
19 iterations. Zero downtime. Visitor-powered self-healing.
Server-Side Scanner
The backend script integrates with the Bandsintown API, aggregating show counts, venues, dates, and geographic locations. Rather than serving this live, it caches data arrays directly into the WordPress wp_options table for instantaneous retrieval.
PHP Template Renderer
On page load, the template bypasses external API calls entirely. It reads the local wp_options cache, builds artist data arrays, and executes rapid DOM injection to render HTML cards and tables.
Self-Healing Cache
When a user loads the page, PHP identifies any artist data older than 24 hours. Client-side JS silently processes a randomized queue via async AJAX calls, updating both the backend cache and live DOM — invisible to the user.
v19 Past-Date Suppression
The latest iteration introduced an automated filter that instantly suppresses cached tour dates the moment they pass chronologically, immediately re-queuing that specific artist for a fresh API scan to maintain absolute accuracy.
The numbers don't lie
Measured outcomes from deploying the self-healing infrastructure.
From static page to owned data asset
The long-term strategic value of owning your data presentation layer.
By solving the Velocity Gap and owning the data presentation layer, Easy Star Records transformed a static webpage into an automated, revenue-generating machine. The custom "On Tour" infrastructure doesn't just display dates — it operates as a self-sustaining data pipeline that requires zero human intervention.
This infrastructure allows for future integrations: retargeting pools built from high-intent ticket page visitors, "Halo Capture" geofencing techniques that identify fans near venue locations, and predictive routing that surfaces the most relevant shows based on user geography. The tour page is no longer a static destination — it is a highly measurable, owned data asset that compounds in value with every visitor.
Key insight
The result: casual web traffic converted into an owned, first-party audience graph — independent of platform algorithms, immune to API deprecations, and fully attributable to the label's bottom line.
